Founders' Week
Next week is Founders’ Week, the week where we celebrate the joy in learning which our Founders developed, and where all students take part in a variety of activities, retreats and excursions both at a campus and a whole school level.
It is important that students attend school all week – not only are the activities fun, but there will also still be some core learning happening. We ask that parents ensure their children attend each day, it is not an opportunity to have a longer holiday.
The whole school timetable of events can be found by clicking on the image above or you can go to the Class Information page on our website.
End of Term Items
- Semester 1 Reports – these will be released through SEQTA Engage on Thursday 3 July. If you are unable to access SEQTA please contact the primary admin and they will help you to log in.
- Parent Teacher Interviews – These will take place on Monday 21 July, throughout the day as it is a pupil free day. An email containing the sign-up links will be emailed to families this week. It is important to stay in regular contact with your child’s teachers so please take advantage of this opportunity to meet with them.
- Founders Week: Week 10 - This is always an exciting week where we come together as a whole school for Mass on Monday morning and then for the whole day on Friday. Camino walks, excursions and incursions have all been planned to take place during the week so it is important that you are aware of the timetable which will be emailed out next week and can also be found on our school website. Please note that this is not an optional week, students are expected to be at school.
Save the Date
Whole school open night – Thursday 31 July, 4:00pm - 7:00pm.
Come along and see the great things happening on both campuses.

Creepy Crawlies in Kindergarten!
This term, Kindy Blue and Kindy Gold have been investigating the world of creepy crawlies! Our learning journey has been full of wonder, hands-on fun, and lots of excitement.
We started by making pattern butterflies, carefully designing symmetrical wings. Then, using balloons and static electricity, we made them fly.
We explored bees and pollination, learning how bees help flowers grow. We made bee crowns to wear and enjoyed a special treat, Honey Joys!
To explore snails, we didn’t go looking in the garden, we baked bread scrolls shaped like snails and gobbled them up warm from the oven. One of our messiest and most loved activities was worm play! We squished and dug through mud to discover how worms help our soil.
In Talk for Writing, we also learnt the story 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' and had fun creating our own versions, filled with new foods. The children were so proud of their imaginative stories.
It’s been a joyful term of learning, creating, and a little bit of crawling and squirming too!

English spotlight is on the Year 12s who have started their final unit of English for their schooling career. The Year 12 ATAR students are studying and creating Interpretive texts in preparation for the Composing section of their examinations. Year 12 General students are busy putting together their own examples of reality television shows.
On Wednesday evening the Secondary da Vinci Club enjoyed an Astronomy evening. After four weeks of learning about the night sky, how to set up and use a telescope, the students got to practice these skills and then view a range of mid-winter targets, including Mars, 47 Tucanae and Omega Centauri, in addition to satellite spotting and an introduction to celestial navigation - how to work out where south is, using the Southern Cross.
Many thanks to Mr Hillyer for running this rotation and getting the students prepared for the event. Thank you to Mrs Budas for ongoing technical support and our guest Astronomer ‘Adrian’ for setting up our large telescope and running through several key astronomical objects. A fantastic way to finish the current da Vinci Club rotations for the term.
Well done to our mini-satellite construction team. On the final session for the term, the cubesat project wrapped up with withdrawing the ‘remove before flight’ tag and discovering we had power, were receiving telemetry and imaging from the camera was functioning. The next step for our satellite team, will be to investigate how to interpret the data and being able to use the cubsat in various investigations and projects and to become our ‘Project Managers’ training up a fresh technical team.
All our da Vinci Club students are looking forward to being able to continue extension work with fresh rotations commencing next term.

**PLEASE REMEMBER!**
All 'old' uniform, or combinations of old and new uniform items, can be worn until the end of the 2026 school year.
- Sports Uniform - this can be purchased from the uniform shop, via the CDFPay app. We still have stock of the older style house shirts available for sale in various sizes. Please note that the incoming tracksuit pants will have the school’s name on the upper left thigh. We will phase in the new as we sell out of the previous stock..
**Perm-A-Pleat will close for annual mid-year break from 11-28 July.
To ensure dispatch before the break, please place online orders by COB
on 9 July. Thereafter, orders will be dispatched from 28 July**
- Size 12 blue (Year 3-10) relaxed shirts: are out of stock and unavailable until mid-August!
- Size 12 white (Year 11-12) relaxed shirts: are out of stock and unavailable until mid-August!
- Size 12 navy elastic back shorts: are out of stock and unavailable until mid-August!
From time of ordering, orders will take around a week to make it home via your child's classroom / homeroom baskets. Thank you for your patience.
* Stock is running low on some of the 'old' uniform items, and we have sold out on a few. As previously advised, we will not be reordering any more of the old uniform.
Now available in the uniform shop via the CDF Pay App:
- Pre-Primary - Year 2 - Tracksuit Jackets and Tracksuit Pants are now in stock.
- These new jackets are sized smaller than our current tracksuit jackets. As a guide: the NEW size 6 is almost the the same as our OLd style size 4.
- Please remember that the new tracksuit jackets and pants in the navy fleece fabric with white stripes down the sides, are to be worn ONLY by Pre-Primary - Year 2 students.
- Soft-Shell Jackets: Over the next couple of weeks, the youth sizes of jackets should arrive.
- Primary - To make it easier for families, when we have the sizing samples, the jackets will be taken to each class (Years 3 - 6) and every student will have the opportunity be sized. They will then come home with a slip of paper with their recommended jacket size. Parents can then order online if they wish.
- Secondary – Once the youth sizes of jackets arrive, Year 7’s and new students will have a 'try on session' with Mrs James once we have the sizing samples and will bring home a slip of paper with their name and recommended size if you would like to order. We will err on the bigger side of jackets for longevity.
- ADULT SIZED JACKETS ARE NOW AVAILABLE TO ORDER ON THE CDF PAY APP.
- A few things to keep in mind regarding the Soft-Shell Jackets:
- The ADULT sized jackets will be available at the uniform shop during appointments
- Please be mindful that initial orders may take up to 3 - 4 weeks from order to delivery, and will be distributed through the homeroom/classroom baskets when we receive them
- Jackets will cost $75.00
- The jackets will be available to order through the CDFPay school app, in the Unisex section (access via the school website)
- Exchange will not be possible at this stage
- There will be no delivery fee for this item
We thank you for your patience and reiterate how grateful we are to Sports Power for their support.
We will update the School's Newsletter and Facebook page when the jackets arrive, so please check both these places regularly for up-to-date uniform shop information.
All caregivers are welcome to attend the meetings and it would be great to have as many people there to help support our school! We have so many great events coming this year, I can’t wait to share it with you!
