Year 5 Newsflash – Term 2 Zoomed By!

Wait… Term 2? Gone already?! If you blinked, you probably missed it - because our Year 5s have been flat out like lizards drinking! 

We’ve travelled back in time to the Swan Colony, learning all about life in the 'olden days' (spoiler alert: no screens, no flushing toilets… how did they survive?!). Safe to say, we’re feeling pretty grateful for modern plumbing and Netflix.

In Science, we got our hands messy with solids, liquids, and gases - testing viscosity like mini mad scientists. Who knew watching honey ooze could be so fascinating?

English was all about persuasive writing, and let’s just say… these kids could convince a kangaroo to take up ballet. They wrote their hearts out and proved just how awesome they are (not that we needed convincing!).

Math? Oh, we multiplied, divided, and conquered! Our brains got a serious workout, but we came out stronger and smarter.

Founders Week was a massive highlight - retreats, buddy classes, games and a glorious picnic under perfect skies. We also unleashed our inner architects by building cubbies from sticks and fabric - our creativity came out shining! Watch out, Grand Designs… Year 5 is coming for you! 

And Friday? Sports galore! Team spirit was off the charts, and friendships - new and old—were celebrated with high-fives and happy hearts.

Now we’re back and right into the swing of Term 3 - learning, laughing, and loving every minute of it. Bring on the rest of the year!

Little Joeys - Term 3

'Little Joey's Stay & Play' group for 0-3 year olds, is on again this term.  Come along and join this fun introduction to St Joseph’s School and we look forward to seeing the excited faces most Friday mornings.
