MESSAGE FROM THE LEADERSHIP TEAM

Photo Days

We survived the last two school photo days in our mixed up uniform items. Thank you to those parents who made a real effort to ensure their children had all the clean and tidy uniform items that they needed. The photographers did a great job of mixing the old with the new and we look forward to seeing the results in a couple of months time.

Interschool Competitions

Congratulations to all those students who represented the school at the Secondary ACC cross country event last Thursday and also the Primary VANs Lightning Carnival this week. It is always wonderful to hear about the positive behaviour of our students and everyone at these two events gave their all for the school.

Farewell

Next Tuesday we bid farewell to Mr Rikk Hargrave from his role as Groundman as he moves onto a different position. Rikk has done an outstanding job over the last 18 months of helping to bring the look of the school back into shape. He has worked particularly hard at the Secondary campus where nothing was too much trouble for him. Rikk has also driven our school bus all over the wheatbelt and metro area taking our students to and from events. We are grateful for all that Rikk has given to the school and wish him well in his future endeavours.

Student Successes

During Term 1, Henna Garnett (Year 9) and William James (Year 8) competed at the WA State Track and Field Championships. Both students delivered exceptional performances, each achieving new personal bests.

A special congratulations goes to William, who earned a silver medal in the 200m hurdles. His outstanding efforts have led to his selection for the Athletics West International Team, and he will travel to Singapore in July to compete in the 200m sprint and long hurdles events.

We commend Henna and William for their dedication and success and wish William the very best as he prepares to compete on the international stage.

Congraulations also goes out to Tayah Joy (Year 10).  Tayah was 1 of 4 Australians chosen to represent Pony Club Australia in China for the 'Asia and Pacific Cup'.  The Australian team ended up 4th overall, well done!
