Message from the Leadership Team

On Wednesday we marked the beginning of the Church’s season of Lent with meaningful liturgies on both campuses for Ash Wednesday. Everyone was marked with the sign of the cross on their foreheads. The ashes serve as a symbol of faith and humility. Throughout Lent we are called to engage in prayer, fasting and almsgiving – prayer strengthens our relationship with God, fasting or abstaining from something fosters our solidarity with those in need and almsgiving reflects our commitment to justice and service to those in need.

NAPLAN Testing

This coming week sees the beginning of the annual NAPLAN testing for students in Years 3,5, 7 & 9. The data gained from the testing is used primarily to look at the overall picture of student growth in the school. While it does give you an indication of where your child is sitting against the national and state averages, if your child is in one of these year groups, please remember that it is one test on one day and that it is a different testing scenario than they will normally sit through. For students in Year 9, however, it is important that they take the tests seriously, in order to avoid needing to sit OLNA tests in later years.

Tennis & ACC Basketball Teams

Congratulations to our Tennis teams and ACC Junior Basketball teams for their fantastic representation of the school this week. It is wonderful that our students have so many opportunities to compete for the school.

Uniform Issues

Sports shirts

  • Thank you to those who have provided us feedback about the challenges faced with the fabric of the new sports shirts. We have been in touch with the supplier and will be working with them to try to find a solution moving forward. Please note that it will not be a quick fix.

Formal uniform

  • We have asked Perm-a-Pleat to add the school as a drop-down option for the delivery address for those who only have a PO Box. Until that happens families are able to type in the school’s address (1 Lance Street) and the item will be delivered to the Primary office.
  • We have passed on the concerns about lack of tracking of the parcels and they are working on this. We are hopeful that this will be added to their processes.

School Fees for 2025 School Year

Due to technical issues we are hoping to have the Fee Statements issued by the end of next week, thank you for your patience.

The School Advisory Council has endorsed the increase of the school fees by 4%. This is an average figure, with the primary fees not being impacted as much by the increases. This was tabled at the Annual School Community Meeting in November. A link to the 2025 school fees can be found here.
