Faith in Action

Weekly Gospel Reflection

This week's clip has a focus on 'Advent' and how to acknowledging Christ this Christmas.

Year 5 Mulching Excursion

The Year 5 Blue class completed a MaJEC service opportunity on Monday at the Northam RV Park.

Students took part in mulching the new Rehabilitation Area that was planted by the Year 6s and 11s back in June during Founders Week. The students demonstrated a great amount of action and initiative and are to be commended for their excellent service. All participants came back to school with a heightened sense of how good it feels to serve in order to make our communities better off.

We thank Kayla and Jen from the shire for the opportunity and we look forward to helping the shire with future rehabilitation projects in 2025.

Year 6 Marist Gamechangers Project

Our GameChangers Project task for 2024 was completed on 26 November on the oval.

GameChangers Projects is a Marist Youth group that allows Year 6 students to complete a Social Justice Project over an 8 week Period. 'Projects' is an initiative at St Joseph's that allows Primary aged students the opportunity to serve in the wider community in a group situation.

The Term 4 Project that was carried throughout the term focused on the aspect of us being the 'Spirit of Fire' similar to the connection of fire in our hearts kindled by the Holy Spirit.

Our final task at the end of the project was to complete an oval Lapathon in order to generate donations of canned items for St Joseph's Care Parish Appeal this Christmas. Sponsors chose to donate a can for their own chosen specific amount of laps we completed.

We are thrilled to announce that we completed 100 laps in 1 hour.

The donated cans will be collected by students throughout next week and passed on to St Joseph's Care on Wednesday 11 December.

The students involved in 'Projects' would like to thank Mr Reidy, Ms Thomas, Mr Natkanski and Ms Waters for their support and guidance.
