Student Success
Primary Sporting Achievement
On Friday 25 October, Evleyn Adams and Thomas James from Year 5 Gold represented the school at the WA School Sport Athletics Carnival.
Both students were amazing, competing against the best athletes in the state. Thomas ran his best in the 800m, pushing himself to the limit and giving it everything he had from start to finish. Eveyln completed in Turbo Javelin and Shot Put. Evelyn threw well in Turbo Javelin where she finished 8th overall. However, it was Shot Put where she flexed her muscles to finish 1st overall in the state. Well done, Eveyln!
We’d like to congratulate both Evelyn and Thomas for representing the school against our state's best athletes.

It was a very tough competition against the best in WA. They didn't come home with any medals this year but they performed wonderfully.
Henna achieved 3 Personal bests in the 100m, 200m and triple jump.
William had a tough heat in the 100m, running against the gold and silver state medallist. He achieved a PB of 12.9, getting 4th place but just missing out on the finals. Due to injury he had to pull out of his last 2 events.
Both students should be very proud of their efforts as they have only just started their athletics journey. They were competing against the best in the state with only one season of athletics training. They showed great behaviour and sportsmanship, with the best of St Joseph’s code of conduct on display. We are very proud of them and can't wait to see what the future holds.
