Dear Families & Friends,
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended our Father's Day Breakfast and Junior Athletics Carnival this week. The energy and excitement were contagious, and it was wonderful to see our students from Kindergarten to Year 3 showcasing their sportsmanship and determination. A special thank you to Mr Watson for successfully running his first Junior Athletics Carnival; your hard work and dedication made the day a great success.

We also want to extend our gratitude to our amazing P&F for putting on a fantastic disco for our students, bringing joy and laughter to everyone.

Additionally, we celebrated EA Appreciation Week with a lovely morning tea provided by our teaching staff. We are so thankful for our amazing Education Assistants, whose dedication and support play such a vital role in our students' success.
Lastly, thank you to all our students, parents and staff for attending the Community Mass last weekend, your presence truly strengthens our school community.

Class in Focus: Year Four Gold
Recently in Four Gold, we have been revising our basic functions facts to begin leading into more advanced methods of solving multiplication problems.
As part of the process, the students had an opportunity to bring out the tried-and-true MAB blocks to create sums of various combinations. We began with a more regimented task of making a simple addition problem to establish a baseline of understanding – using their iPads to take photos of their creations.
Following this, students were then given the task of making a more complicated problem – giving students a chance to create problems that feel challenging for them, giving many different results!
It was an absolute blast to see the students express their various talents in their mathematics, and in their use of digital technology.

Wow, what a term we have had so far!
We have been super busy learning and having fun. There has been no time for a rest (though we’ve had plenty of laughs in class) because it has been work, work, work!
This term, we’ve been diving deep into the Olympic Games when we go down to Pre-Primary, and we have learned so much about the world. In HASS, we're virtually "tripping" off to North and South America, where we are planning a trip—watch out, parents, we might hit you up for a loan! We are learning about different climates, landforms, cultures and foods. We wish we could go there for our school camp!
In Maths, we’ve been exploring fractions, decimals and percentages. It has been a lot of fun converting and finding the common denominators for our fractions. We are even creating a board game, which we might sell to the highest bidder to fund our trip overseas!
POP is the name of our class novel, and we are so lucky that we found the author of this amazing and exciting book. He has agreed to do a Zoom meeting with us to discuss the story. We highly recommend it to other students; it’s filled with adventure, drama, villains and thrilling chases. Super cool!
Book Week is done and dusted for another year, and we rocked it! Check out some of our costumes.

For Science, we have reached for the stars and learned all about our solar system. We even created 3D universes, so keep an eye out for them at the Northam Show—we have entered them for the display.
Well, we must keep going; there’s so much more to learn and do. Have a wonderful last two weeks of term. Until the next newsletter, stay safe and keep learning!

Year Two Liturgy
As we gathered for our Year 2 liturgy on Monday morning, to celebrate Father’s Day and the special men in our lives, we were reminded of the important role fathers play to us.
This special day is a time to honor and appreciate all the dads, grandfathers, godfathers, and father figures who have guided, supported and loved us.
The year 2 students did a wonderful job throughout the liturgy, and we could not have been prouder of them.
