Year 10 Camino
On Tuesday 3 September, the Year 10s embarked on their leg of the Camino Cabagniol by walking from Stoneville to Midland along the Railway Heritage Trail through John Forrest National Park. The journey was a length of 18km. The Camino also doubled as their Year 10 Retreat named 'Galilee'. Students immersed themselves in the setting of the Sea of Galilee and visited townsites that Jesus would have preached in during his years of ministry, such as Bethsaida, Capernaum and Tiberius.

The themes of the Retreat day outline our callings in life. The themes outlined were: 'Called As We Are,' 'Called but not Alone' and 'Called to Serve.'

Along the way we met a pink and grey Galah (maybe an indication of the Holy Spirit). We discovered his name was Reggie, a tame homeless resident of Stoneville with his own Facebook page. Reggie journeyed with us for 14km and was returned to Stoneville by 'Matt' the Uber driver.

Students trekked through awesome weather conditions and relished the opportunity to have Hovea Creek and its various waterfalls in full flow.

We thank the staff, plus Mr Fleay and Mrs Elfverson for helping facilitate the day.

Marist Connect

On Wednesday 4 September, some of our Senior Secondary Students journeyed to Newman College to participate in the 3rd Marist Youth 'Connect' Night in WA for 2024. 25 Students gathered from Newman College, Bunbury Catholic College and St Joseph's to reflect on the Fruits of the Spirit.

The night kicked off with the power of the Holy Spirit. Through this, students were also able to reflect on how God's spirit is also present in the marginalised members of our society, and what we can do to allow everyone to feel loved as Jesus intends.

The night included games, Liturgy and a Q & A session that allowed students to learn about God's plans for us in amongst a Marist setting.

We wish to thank Issy Ochtman, Mrs Marasco, Mrs Clements, Marist Youth Ministry and Newman College for hosting us during our visit.
